For those who don’t know their ’90s computer games history, Jonny Cage was one of the characters from one of the arcade games of the decade; Mortal Kombat. Having found fame and fortune, it seems that Jonny’s retired from battering people in the ring and taken up battering them with sonic weapons of the drum & bass kind.
‘Navigator’ takes a familiar chord progression and chunky old skool breaks during the intro, leading to a drop so heavy it’ll leave Raiden and Scorpion scattering! Pounding drums are paired with a low-slung bass that wobbles and bounces its way across the dance, forcing ravers to jump around like Liu Kang doing a dragon kick.
On the flip ‘Psychosis’ delves deep into the disturbed mind of Jonny Cage. The atmosphere is tense as gliding pads and echoed percussive hits slowly make their way to the drop. Then everything switches, like a bi-polar maniac lashing out with force, this one is ready to seriously hurt the dancefloor.
